As a kid, Adam Gidwitz loved playing with action figures, shooting hoops, and going to the principal’s office. I spent pretty much my entire middle school career there. Somehow, I became a teacher. The only way I knew how to get my kids to be quiet was to tell them stories. One day, I told them a scary Grimm fairy tale, and a second grader told me to turn it into a book, so I did: A Tale Dark & Grimm. I live in Brooklyn with my wife, my daughter, and our dog, Lucy Goosey, who comes with me each morning to the park, where I write. Even in the winter.
